The Madio meeting space is a gathering space, an artist space, a community space, a blank slate. The space features two adjoining rooms - one best suited as an arrival greeting space, breakout room or social gathering space, and the other as a large gathering space. Both rooms open out onto the back gardens with plenty of windows for natural light and french doors for fresh air. Other amenities include a private bathroom, prep kitchen and outdoor dining patio.
What does Madio mean? Well, everything we do at Black Bear Lodge has a lot of intention behind it (and usually a good story too). When thinking of a name for this new group space, we knew we wanted it to be different. We wanted to create a space for groups to gather that is unlike your typical hotel meeting space - queue bad carpet, overhead lighting and why is the AC always cranking?
Madio is a word that our two-year-old daughter confidently says while pointing around the house, as if casting a spell. Madio! Madio! Madio! The word stuck with us as it is quite fun to say. We felt like it fit with our intentions for the space - it’s unique, fun, inspiring and it can have different meanings for different people.
