Close to the adventure,
far from the stress
We’re located on a tranquil site in South Lake Tahoe, ideally situated between the shores of Lake Tahoe and the slopes of Heavenly Mountain. We’re half a mile to the beach and one mile to the mountains, with plenty of shops and restaurants in between.
Whether you are looking to play or pause, there are endless things to do in Lake Tahoe all year round. Stop by the front desk and we can help guide your stay. Until then, here’s a quick list of ideas to spark your daydreams.
Things to do
Your sense of well-being and connection arrives as soon as you do.
Our front desk doubles as a wine bar, so you can unwind from your travels before making your way to your room. Our property is scenic and serene, with an outdoor hot tub and plenty of parking.
Lake Activities
Within about a 10 minute walk is the Ski Run Marina, where you’ll find lake activities like kayaks, paddle boards, powerboats, and jet skis. From here, you can also reserve a parasailing excursion or cruise on the Safari Rose yacht through Emerald Bay.
Ski Resorts
Heavenly Mountain Resort offers activities in the winter and summer. For the closest skiing access, head to Heavenly’s California Base. There is a complimentary town shuttle which picks up just outside of our property approximately every 20 minutes, weather and traffic dependent. New this year, you will need to make a parking reservation in advanced, if you would like to drive to Heavenly’s Cal Base on weekends and holidays. The Heavenly Mountain Gondola, a five minute drive away, offers sightseeing in the summer and winter as well as summer activities like zip lining.
Ski & Snowboard Rentals
There are many equipment rental shops around South Lake Tahoe. We recommend Ski Butlers for top quality ski and snowboard equipment, and the most convenient process. Ski Butlers will deliver all your equipment rentals directly to your accommodation. They bring extra boots for a guaranteed perfect fit.
On your final rental day, Ski Butlers will come to your accommodation to pick up all your rental equipment. You do not need to be present for pickup. Click here to recieve 10% off and reserve your equipment.
Biking and hiking
Hop on a cruiser bike rental at Anderson’s Bicycle Rental for a scenic bike ride along a paved path through the woods to several beach areas, including Baldwin Beach.
There are plentiful hiking trails for different lengths and ability levels. Some of our favorites are Van Sickle, Cascade, Eagle Falls, Rubicon Trail, and the East Shore Trail at Sand Harbor.
Or you can take a load off and book a guided experience with Tahoe Guide Service! They can pick you up from the lodge and customize your day to see and do exactly what you are looking for. For rates, availability and more information head to their website at www.tahoeguideservice.com.
Breweries and Taprooms
There’s nothing like a cold beer to cap off a day of adventuring. The craft beer scene has really grown over the last few years in South Lake Tahoe. Our favorite local breweries and taprooms are South Lake Brewing, Coldwater, and The Hangar.
Restaurants
For casual dining at the end of your day, Ski Run Blvd offers a variety of global restaurants within walking distance of our property: Artemis Mediterranean Grill, Shangrila Himalayan Kitchen, Yugen Sushi, and Thai on Ski Run.
If you are looking to celebrate or splurge, we highly recommend these delicious restaurants: Edgewood Restaurant, Cafe Fiore, and the Sage Room at Harvey’s.
Coffee Shops
One of our favorite things to seek out in a new town is local coffee shops. Their cozy feel is unique to the destination and the smell of freshly pulled espresso is unmatched. These are our local favorites: Freebird Cafe, Drink Coffee Do Stuff, Three Pines Coffee, and Cuppa Tahoe.
